We know we all work best when we’re healthy, so we invest in a range of initiatives that support staff well-being, including a fast-track self-referral physiotherapy service, well-being clinics, restaurants offering a range of freshly-cooked meals, and staff counselling services for personal and work-related issues.

We know that the quality of the services we deliver for our patients is defined by our people. That’s why we have high ambitions for supporting the thousands of staff we have working across our hospitals, community and social care services.

The ICS commitment to target areas requiring improvement from a race equality perspective has been formalised with the appointment of an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Workforce Champion. Carol Cooper, Head of Equality and Diversity at Birmingham Community Health Care, has taken on the role and will spearhead much of the work to improve fairness, equity and access for all across the system.
